Drakensberg Road Rally: March 20-22 2026
The Drakensberg Road Rally is a car enthusiast roadtrip taking place on 870km of only tarmac roads departing from Durban into the Drakensberg and Maluti mountains. Day 2 is an excursion drive day before returning to Durban on day 3. All cars and drivers are welcome to join and there is no vehicle selection process. This is a non competitive, non timed, family friendly adventure and is not a race.

Road Rally Start from Durban
Drivers will meet at a pre determined location in Durban where they will get a quick drivers briefing before departing at 8:30am

Brunch Stop
Brunch stop after a beautiful mountain pass. Drivers will depart 1h30 after arriving at their brunch spot.

Arrive at Accomodation
Arrive in Winterton and check into accommodation. There will be several "free hours'' before the evenings social activity.

Social Activity
Social activity in the evening for all drivers. An ideal opportunity to make new friends and network!

Start Excursion Run
Depart accommodation to start the days excursion run. This is an optional drive so if youd prefer to relax at your accommodation or explore the area instead, please feel free to do so.

Convoy Regroup
A quick 15 min regroup to stretch your legs at a scenic rest stop

Arrive At Lunch Stop
1h30 stop for lunch after driving some amazing roads.

Depart lunch
Depart lunch stop driving back to accommodation.

Arrive at accomodation
Arrive back at accommodation. There will be some leisure time before an optional social activity.

The evenings optional social activity where drivers will get a chance to meet each other and chat about the driving from the day.

Depart accommodation
Depart from your accommodation heading back towards Durban.

Regroup – Coffee Stop
A quick 15 minute regroup for coffee and to stretch your legs.
Arrive at endpoint in Durban
Arrive at our end point in the Pinetown area.
ENTER THE RALLY
An entry is for 1 vehicle with 2 people including 2 nights of accommodation. Accommodation options vary by economy, comfort and luxury. All accommodation options are excellent quality to suit your budget.
Please note: All meals while driving are for your own account. Breakfast and Dinner at your accommodation is included unless you have chosen self catering.
Once you have filled in a registration form you will receive an invoice which requires a 50% non refundable deposit to secure your entry. The remaining amount needs to be paid by the 28th of February. If you have other requirements such as additional adults, children or additional vehicles, please send an email to: grant@automotiveexperiences.co.za and we will calculate an entry cost according to your exact needs.
